Well its official. Alexis Systems is out of business, I have been able to work on a couple of computers on the side to keep things moving in the right direction till I can find full time employment. SO if you live around the Salina area and in need of a computer tech, give me a call. Good news is one place where I am their “computer guy”, is looking to hire a truck driver, so I have a little bit of a “inside track” there, but only time will tell. I had a very informal interview today.

Well, looks like things aren’t going to well at work. It kinda looks like we might be shutting the doors as of the 6th of next month. Boss owes some money to the state and the state isn’t happy with the amount of money they can receive per month, and want to increase it to an amount we can not pay. Always heard something is better then nothing, but the state doesn’t think so. Well, things are getting interesting and already starting looking for another job.

I think I know why I am not online much anymore. I had to think about it. I have a desktop and laptop that are sort of a dream to use. Both amazingly fast and set just how I like them. But I am just not on the computer much. It has to be that I work on them all day. Pretty much I had 5 going at the same time, all day long, when one was done, one more went up. When I get home, I just watch TV. My life still isn’t going how I planned or hoped, but all is okay. Bills are getting paid, and I am getting by. I am going to try to get on more. But I think when I stop working at the computer repair shop, my time online will grow here at home. Anyway, just a thought.

Well, site went down for a while today, obviously its back up already. I do want to keep up on it, I do have plans to write more and fix the picture gallery. I KNOW I keep admitting I should write more but hopefully if I keep saying it I will start believing it. I am still working for the comp repair shop. I do get some perks, like I got a laptop for about 4 hours of “home service call”, lady decided not to repair a near new laptop and I traded her data backup and going out to her house and setting up her new laptop, set up the network, set up the printer, and transfer her data back. It was a nice laptop with all the bells and whistles, a month after getting that one. I get a call at the shop from another lady who purchased a new MacBook and doesn’t know how to run it. Its in perfect condition but they don’t know how, or don’t want to learn how to run it. So strait trade for my laptop. Mine was the only one at the shop that could qualify for it. Anyway, so I am writing this post from my MacBook. So while the pay isn’t the best, I do get some perks. Anyway, write more later.

Well, I have been working more hours at the computer repair shop. I am getting much better at it. There is a lot to remember and somedays my brian is a steel trap, others a closed box. BUT, boss is happy I guess, he is having me work more hours. Anyway, thanks for stopping by.

Hello again, just to update the work situation, this week started off good with the computer repair shop. Doing good, holding my own. Decided that I needed to know Windows 7 a little better and got a copy from the shop. I am not generally a fan of Windows but see it as a necessary evil. If I am going to fix them, I need to get familiar with it. Gotta admit, Windows 7 works pretty well, it has lots of eye candy, but still fast and agile. I am still in the testing stage so I will write more later. Let’s hope that my part time work keeps up.

Well, I found a part time job working at a computer repair shop. I am amazed how bad people let their computers get. I mean, don’t stop at the first sign of a flat tire, just keep going till it’s down to the rim and lose control into a pole, then, can you fix this in an hour? Well, its something, not as many hours as I was hoping for, but it is a start. I haven’t gotten anything from the Temp agencies yet. They make it sound like there is work, but they haven’t called once, and I have called within 5 minutes of them opening everyday this week. SO, things aren’t bad, they aren’t that good, and I am dealing with it. STILL, haven’t gotten a note from my long lost friend. That would make my week better.

Learned yesterday, by stopping in to the place that I didn’t get the job I was talking about yesterday. The company decided since they were such a industry niche place, they didn’t need to update, what traffic they do get is mostly follow up after the salesman gets to them. They chose someone else with years of AutoCAD seat time. So, that kinda sucks.

I am going nuts over here. This job I am waiting for is perfect for me. All that I like to do, they need done, and willing to pay me for it. I just have to wait for them to get together and decide who they want. This wait is killing me. I want to have a backup plan and there are so few jobs here. I am too qualified for most. I was told at one warehouse company they didn’t want a carpetbagger, they didn’t someone that didn’t want a long term job. They could see that I am CDL driver from my resume and they know CDL jobs aren’t here right now, and that as soon as they were, I would leave. I can’t say that I blame them, they would hire me, train me for 2 weeks, and then I would leave in 8 weeks. I am SEVERELY running out of money, freaking out and can’t find a job. I have a good feeling about the AutoCAD job, but wow, its just so stressful. I got 2 friends that disappeared that I would LOVE to have updates from but not a thing to be seen or heard. I know things will get better but wow, a few things could make life so much easier right now.

Well I did get some good news today, and from that news it will be easier to get a job. I have tried and tried to get work here in Kansas but it’s difficult. I don’t know if its because I am from out of town and they are scared of hiring me or what. But, things should get easier soon. Anyway, I will keep on keeping on.
